by Dean Dyer on December 13, 2009

Here’s part 2 of the post on professional golfers’ websites…..the good, the bad and the in between. You can read part 1 here.

  • Paul Casey (www.paul-casey.com)
    • The Official Paul Casey Website_1260307211178Design? Good

    • Tips? Yes, a handful
    • Online Store? Not yet
    • Video? None, surprisingly
    • Member Sign-Up? No, but can send him a message via the site
    • Other? Huge photo gallery
    • Bookmark It? Yes….updated with new content regularly, mainly through Casey’s blog
  • Henrik Stenson
    • Doesn’t have his own website. His PGA Tour profile is a reasonable alternative
  • Sergio Garcia (www.sergiogarcia.com)
    • Sergio Garcia - Official Website_1260480910562Design? Excellent
    • Blog? No
    • Tips? No
    • Online Store? Yep
    • Video? Yes, but no golf footage, mostly interviews
    • Member Sign-Up? No, but there is a contact form if you want to send Sergio a message or ask a question
    • Other? Interesting information about his relationship with his dad and passion for football
    • Bookmark It? No – probably not one that you’ll keep coming back to, but worth a look
  • Kenny Perry (www.kennyperry.com)
    • Kenny Perry Golf - Home_1260475894958Design? OK

    • Bookmark It? No
  • Rory McIlroy (www.rorymcilroy.com)
    • Rory Mcilroy- Golf Player's Home_1260475673725Design? Website is designed and managed by McIlroy’s management company (International Sports Management). Layout and content is the same as Lee Westwood’s
    • Blog? Yes, updated weekly and pretty candid
    • Tips? Only 1 so far, but will probably be added to
    • Online Store? No
    • Video? Only 1! Signing-up might get you access to more??
    • Member Sign-Up? Yes, not clear what it gives you though
    • Other? Pretty good section on results and planned schedule
    • Bookmark It? Might be worth bookmarking the blog, but only if you’re a fan

Other Notables

  • John Daly (www.johndaly.com)
    • John Daly - The Official Site of John Daly - The Lion - Grip It and Rip It_1260476015340I wouldn’t bookmark it, but worth a look, if only to see how many business ventures Daly is promoting – including his signature clothing range, John Daly’s Restaurant Bar & Grill, BBQ cooking website, John Daly golf gloves, John Daly biography and numerous sponsor products!
  • Jack Nicklaus (www.nicklaus.com)
    • Nicklaus.comAs you’d expect from a legend of the game, the Golden Bear’s website is packed with information – includes a large section (no surprise) on results, achievements, etc from his amateur days through his professional career
    • Also has some good quality video tips from his ‘Golf My Way’ DVD
    • Definitely worth bookmarking as you’ll probably want to go back from time to time
  • Natalie Gulbis (www.nataliegulbis.com)
    • Natalie Gulbis_1260475790673As one of the most marketable female golfers it’s no surprise that Gulbis has a great website that does an excellent job of enhancing her profile. Content consists of a mixture of golf statistics and personal information, including hobbies, interests, musical tastes, etc. Can also join her ‘international fan club’
    • There are regular updates to this sites, so if you follow the LPGA you should bookmark this one
  • Ian Poulter (www.ianpoulter.com)
    • I don’t think there’s a more professional and entertaining website out there among the pros
    • No expense has been spared, with lots of video, including ‘IJP TV’ and ‘IJP Design’
    • I enjoyed spending some time looking around Poulter’s site, and I think you will too

This post took me much longer to write than I had planned…….I enjoyed looking through the websites and learning a little more about these golfers. Let me know if there is anyone I’ve missed here who is worthy of mention.
