About foundgolf.com
There’s so much information on the internet these days, it’s getting more difficult to find the good stuff.
The aim of foundgolf.com is to find and share the best golf information and resources available on the internet………a golfer’s guide to the internet.
About Me…..Dean Dyer
For some time I’ve been wanting to combine my passion for golf with my knowledge of the internet to create some sort of golf-related internet business. After lots of research and plenty of ‘brilliant’ ideas, I’m yet to create a rival to Google or Facebook. However, I’ve found some great online golf resources in the process, much of which many golfers probably don’t know exist.
So…..I’ve decided not to create the next billion dollar internet empire so that I can continue to explore the world of golf on the internet, and share what I find through this blog…….Jobs, Gates co. can breathe a little easier!
The Golf
I’ve been playing golf for about 20 years now, getting down to 8 a few years ago. Two kids and too much work in the meantime see me closer to a 12 handicap these days…..something I’m determined to rectify.
We recently moved into a new house, right across the road from a golf course, so I should be able to get plenty of practice. My wife was so smitten with the house when she first saw it that she didn’t take much notice of the course across the road……and I didn’t feel the need to tell her what its proximity would mean!
The Internet
I work as an IT consultant, with an emphasis on the ‘I’ rather than the ‘T’. I’ve learnt just enough about the technology to have developed a couple of websites over the years….which happen to be golf related.
One of these sites was for a social golf tournament that we play every year with a group of friends. The website was a great way to publish results, photos and general commentary. The tournament is still going strong after 11 years, and I feel like I should get the site active again.
The second website captured golf scores and stats, for me and some golfing friends. It hasn’t had much attention lately, but was good fun when we were all playing a lot of golf. I think I was dead last in putting and up and downs…..nothing would have changed there.
……..enough about me, back to the golf.
